The Sr. Systems Administrator will work under the supervision of the Information Systems Manager and will operate, maintain and troubleshoot client systems and assist in server administration.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- 8+ years' experience with general information system administrative duties.
- Intermediate experience with macOS and Linux platforms.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required for government contract work.
- Must be able to obtain a clearance and pass background investigation.
- Must be able to work non-standard hours and willing to respond to after-hours calls as needed.
- Solid technical background coupled with the desire and ability to grasp new skills quickly.
- Intermediate physical layer networking.
- Must be highly detail oriented, excellent communication skills, both written and orally.
- Valid CA driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Travels locally as required for business needs, must have reliable transportation.
Essential Functions
- Performs daily desktop troubleshooting for Windows hardware and software, both over the phone
and in person.
- Monitors incoming support requests and responds in a timely manner during business hours.
- Configures, deploys, and supports Windows based workstation hardware.
- Provides backup desktop support as needed macOS and Linux workstations.
- Supports on-site vendors during system migrations and conferences.
- Provides Tier 1, 2 and 3 support to MSSS staff and on-site guests.
- Builds, configures, deploys, upgrades and maintains IT pertinent hardware.
- Supports, tests, develops and maintains Windows-based Infor VISUAL servers and client
software.
- Supports and maintains SolidWorks client and licensing, as well as PDM server software.
- Documents IT processes, create user guides and setup instructions.
- Images and deploys equipment and software for company onboarding of new hires.
- Provides corporate meeting support as requested.
- Resolves any required on-call emergencies as directed by manager.
- Coordinates IT team tasks as directed by the Information Systems Manager.
- Prior to entering the Camera Systems Group areas where Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) sensitive
items are stored, assembled or tested, receive initial and ongoing annual training in the
fundamentals of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).
Non-Essential Functions
- Researches and tests viable software and hardware as requested.
- Performs other duties as required or requested which may become essential to this position.
- Travels to vendors as needed for equipment maintenance.
